Never really liked Rashad, so this may be biased. But how in the name of jaysis is he ranked number 5 at LHW.

I know the rankings mean feck all at the end of the day but seriously how is he still even ranked. He beat Chael and Hendo 2 years ago and is considered top 5 in the world. Loada bollocks if you ask me :p

Bit of a rant but just can't get over it. Any fans of his here, looking forward to see him fight Bader?

That's the UFC rankings. They keep him up that high so they can catapult him into a title shot with a win on his return against Bader.

They are pretty damn irrelevant. UFC do what they need to do (in the name of business) when deciding rankings.

Most other sites have him outside the top 10 if even ranked at all.

Shows how poor the LHW division is at the moment. No one has put together a streak of wins to knock him off.

Rankings are determined by the press, not the UFC.

The press in MMA are not independent though

Still one of the biggest names and only has one bad defeat on his record against a past his best little Nog

But has been so inactive in recent years it's an odd one

To be fair I'd out him at 5th

    Jones
    DC
    Rumble
    Gus
    Evans

Then the rest can Duke it out, obviously he's been really inactive but his ability is hopefully still there.

Can make a case for either him or Glover. He is what the UFC LHW is lacking at the minute though, a big name, and deserves a title shot just as much as Gus does.

Glovers just such a nice guy he's hard not to like, exactly the way I feel about JDS. He's up there as well I'd agree but a fully fit Evans is a monster.

    Cheers for the roll eyes.

You went on a rant saying the UFC select rankings for their own purposes. I disagree with this and think most would. Have you anything to substantiate this claim beyond smiley faces?

Maybe not completely independent. They are decided my a UFC approved panel of journalists. But that doesn't really explain how they have input.

You said they decide the rankings, they don't.
You say the rankings aren't independant, how exactly are the UFC brass suppose to influence the press? Do they send of a memo to them all "please push Evans this month guys"

Yeah but IMO I think Rampage and Thiago Silva could have finished him if they had better cardio. They had him hurt but they couldn't hit that final blow.

But he still got the wins I suppose.

LHW is easily the crappiest division imo.

Used to be there big division, back in the day esp when the Heavy weight divisions were weaker than opposition organisations.

I like Rashed, even more after he stopped and took a photo in the MGM lobby.

Stop talking sense - it's easier for people just to cry conspiracy and pretend they have inside info. If you say everything is fixed or a conspiracy, someday it'll turn out you're right and can say 'I told you so'.

There's no evidence that UFC decides or fixes it's rankings - not that they would even be bothered since they make the fights they want regardless. Rankings were just something Fox requested when they sign the TV deal - UFC largely ignore them.

It's funny how you roll your eyes, when you're the one who just found out that UFC don't pick the rankings.

So since you're rolling eyes - which MMA media members (that pick the rankings) are not independent & why? Give us your inside scoop.

Rashad has probably the cleanest ko, that I have seen in the UFC against Chuck. It was amazing KO. Ok Chuck was on the decline at stage but rashad started out as pure wrestler had nothing else, he's had most fights ever on a series of TUF. I'm a big rashad fan
