    Hi everyone

Travelling to the states for first time this weekend. Just wondering about going through Dublin airport. Once i check in and go through normal security do i go straight to immigration and customs or is it ok to do a bit of shopping in the loop first and then proceed. Plan to be at airport 3 hours before flight is that enough time. Thanks in advance.

You check in as normal then go though security then immigration is last. Once you are there 3 hours before you have plenty of time for some shopping. Last time I went through immigration took about 30 minutes it was busy enough I'd say give yourself an hour to go through and get to your gate.

It gets pretty busy down there sometimes and there is second security. If you are there 3 hours before then some shopping is OK, if you are running late then perhaps best to proceed to the US immigration. I presume your ESTA is in order.

Depending on the flight time, you might be waiting in the Loop area for immigration to open so you should have some time to shop. You'll have security, immigration and then customs.

Keep an eye on the monitors, as they'll tell you when to proceed downstairs to US CBP.

If you plan on grabbing a bite to eat or even buying water for the flight, you're best doing so prior to passing through customs, as the fare on offer for US bound passengers is underwhelming and overpriced compared to what you'll get airside upstairs.

Hi all. Heading from t2 ture morning at 7.10 with aer lingus . Not a frequent flyer from Dublin so what time should I arrive by. Will have checked in online so security will be biggest deadly I imagine.

    Thanks

Bringing carry on or checked luggage ? I reckon you would want to be in the airport between 5,30 and 6 bells . I'd be aiming closer for 5.30 or slightly earlier . At least u can have get some food or whatever and take your time .

3 hours before flight to the US
2 hours before for other flights.
