    Thanks,

I give mine Levicide injection in August and Paramectin injection every five weeks after that until Xmas, also vaccinate them with Rispoval3 before they're weaned. This seems to work well enough.

Our vet says to dose on sight of problems, if there is no coughing or loose dung and they are growing - then hold off And let them build immunity.

Il be hitting mine with a white dose in the next few weeks just to soften the kill when they get an ivermectin inside.

Jan Feb calf's due there third dose end of month and March April just got there second dose two weeks ago. Using pour on this year to see what results I get. Will dung sample the end of year to see how product worked. Cows dung sampled a month after housing to see what they need.

Bit of advice needed, as in 2 minds.

Got Dung sample taken in late September, Cows had Fluke & Calves had worms.

Before the results had come back (end September), I put Imec (Worms only) on all.

Then after the results, all adult stock got Triclaben 10%.

Just wondering should the Weanlings (July 14, & Mar-May 15) get Triclaben too?

Anything born in '14 should be fluked, unless you see loss of thrift or condition on the older '15 calves, I wouldn't worry about fluking them.

That would be my thinking as well, however a vet on another forum recommended fluking '15 born weanlings ,

forget his reason for so but he's a guy I think a lot of & not 1 for trying to push sales of products

I'd do them if they were 10 months or so, but nothing younger. they'll get done mid turnout next year- July or so. It's also different for each farmer, the land type plays a major role and the farmer should know the land if he's been on it a while. Wetter type land could indeed harbour fluke infestation enough to mean you need to fluke weanlings.

Anyone else have weanlings coughing, only when they run a bit, all out but will be bringing them in the weekend. Used levicide pour on a month ago, it doesn't sound like pneumonia but not sure, getting a vet weekend so will ask him to check it out.
Any one else have the same?

Are they weaned? Have you only given them one treatment so far?

    Lung worm?

Doubt it's pneumonia especially if they are running. If it's pneumonia they would be depressed, not eating, away from the rest, snotty nose etc..

I'd say it's hoose/lungworm. If your housing them the weekend either dose them now or a week after to reduce stress. Use an ivomectin or white drench and they should be fine. No harm in getting vets advice too, this clammy weather is ideal for pneumonia so you need to keep stress to a minimum.
