I know Dj Carey was on 4 losing teams 1991,1998, 1999 and 2004. Eoin Kelly and Lar Corbett lost 3 AI in 2009, 2011 and 2014. Can't think of anyone who lost more than 4 AI but I am sure there must have been?

not sure how accurate these are but Wikipedia shows Dublin losing in 41,42,44,48 and 52, possibly somebody with 4 or 5?
100 years ago Kilkenny, Cork and Tipp all lost 4 finals in 7 or 8 years

In football Alan Dillion would have 4 senior, 04,06,12,13 and one minor 99.

David Heaney or James Nallen may also have 4 from 96 to 06 but I'm not sure.

Tomás Marc and Cooper lost in 02,05,08,11

Hopefully Marc and Gooch don't add to that this year.

    Michael Kavanagh lost 4 I think in 1998, 1999, 2004 and 2010, last one as a sub

I presume Noel Lane (& maybe more) lost in 79,81,85 & 86...did anyone go from 75 to 86 with Galway, 5 defeats?

Actually, thinking about it, Pat Henderson won & lost 5:

    WIns 75,74,72,69 & 67

    Lost 78,73,71,66 & 64

Eddie Keher would have lost 59,64,66,71 & was injured for the 73 defeat.

David Brady must have a fair few between various grades.

    Jimmy Nallen has 96, 97, 04, and 06.
I think has one or two under 21s as well from 94, 95.

And he has a runners up club with Crossmolina from 2003.

SuperMac was not there in 96, otherwise he would have a very similar record to Nallen.

Heaney wasn't there in 96 afaik.

David Brady also has 4 runners up and a club runners up I believe.

I am not allowed discuss …

    Not 75 but he played in 90 so that's 5: 79, 81, 85, 86, 90. He won 3 - 80, 87, 88.

    Pete Finnerty also with 4 - 85, 86, 90, 93

Nope I am fairly sure there is not.

Not actual medals but I have seen a kind of plaque thing a member of a losing team got before - will check if it was from the GAA or whether it was a county board thing.

    Yes, often there are.

However unlike the winners medals, the recipients do not carry them around " in their back pocket"

I am fairly sure the GAA don't give anything, the county boards can commission their own commemoration if they please.

Wasnt there a story of Joe Kernan throwing his All Ireland runners up medal against the wall of the dressing room at half time the year Armagh won the final? Could have been a plaque either.

The Meath minor footballers of 2012 were presented with runners up medals on the field at Páirc Tailteann at half time during a league match in 2013. The county board definitely commissioned those anyway. It was a bit of a sad looking affair to be honest, made worse by the fact Meath were getting badly beaten at the time.

    Don't think so.

And rightly so. Losers medal ffs, who'd want it.
