The Crossfire is Vortex's entry level glass and will perform as such. Do not expect good results at dusk or dawn.

I bought a 6-24x50mm for stalking to replace my 3-9x40mm Burris E1. After leveling, mounting, and sighting the Vortex in, days before the season, I went back to my E1.

I would rate any of my E1 or Fullfield II's, with 40mm objectives better than the Crossfire II with 50mm bells in low light hunting situations.

On the other hand, I do like my Diamondback and have heard a lot of good things about Vipers.

Also, the Crossfire is a heavy scope. If you already have a heavy kit, this scope will not help.

All this said, I found my Crossfire II a home on the 10/22 doing benchwork and targets in good weather. A lot of features for an entry level scope.

I have just mounted mine on a .308 and am very happy so far. Have yet to hunt with it but I can see a bullet hole in paper @100yds at dusk no problem. I am only up the road from you if you want to try for yourself.
