Recently got shimano spd sl pedals and shoes and after a few rides the back of the cleat looks worn. Is this normal?
    Pic should be attached

don't have spd-sl, but my Look cleat(s), especially the one I unclip at lights and junctions etc. wears very fast, in fact the front is becoming sharp...

Perfectly normal. I go through a set of the same cleats every 6 months or so, they're made from pretty soft plastic abc cut up very easily if you have to walk any distance in them.

I bought the Shimano copy cleats from eBay (half the price) and actually prefer them, they're harder wearing and give a nice solid click when clipping in as opposed to the dull near silent click from the genuine cleats.

They will scuff from walking and putting your foot down. The yellow tabs are meant to be the wear indicators. I find I can live without the back tabs on my non-dominant foot, but the added float annoys my dominant foot.
