Would like to improve my swimming. At the moment it's very hit and miss, wud swim for an hour once a week but wud miss a few weeks every now an then. Currently my swim times wud be 14minutes for 750 in glendalough and 30minutes for DCT. Thinking about joining the nac to up my swimming or would I be better join a specific swim group, or wud my times be even good enough to join a group?? Thanks for any advice

Hi, if you are interested, I'd suggest NAC masters, google them for their site with training times. Your pace would be okay for some of their lanes, and its pay as you go (an hour training with them is cheaper then paying to use the pool once off by yourself!)
Its a lot easier to train in a group of like minded people with a coach letting you know what to do!

I swim in the Nac the odd time myself but find the 7.50 admission charge a bit much. Coolmine have early morning swims from 7 to 8.30 mon wed and fri but no coaching.
I live in Dublin 15 but drive over to the Phoenix masters club in clondalkin twice a week (tue and thur 6am to 7am). I find their sessions excellent and there are lanes for all abilities. Judging by your times I dont think you would in any way be out of your depth. My advice would be to try a club as I swam on my own for while, but found I made major fitness gains training with a club...
