Absolutely cracking, probably the best all round o/u EVER.. the Beretta 68 series which were manufactured in the early/mid 2000's were a better built firearm to it's descendants which are being manufactured now in Turkey. The 687 was basically a cosmetically enhanced version of the 686 Silver Pigeon, which means it had higher grade wood and engraving. If I came across a clean one now I would buy it any day over a new Silver Pigeon Delux or whatever the equivalent is now. Jim Griffin had a very nice second hand 686 Silver Pigeon in the shop some time before he closed, the owner was still looking for around €1500 for it and got it very quickly I might add, I was raging I missed it. Oh by the way I shoot a Browning Sporter and as much as I like(and I really do) it I'd still have the 687.

I was in the UK last year on holidays and a gun dealer had a 687 in game, he said it was about 15 to 20 years old but was in good nick.It was 890 pounds and I wanted to buy it but thought it be hassle getting it sent home.

    Thanks for feed back lads.Thats a nice gun fabwing, 687 grade v cost a nice.few €,
How do you find it weight and balance wise, some people tell me the silver pidgeon are heavier than the old 687.One man pointed me towards the browning 725 hunter grade 5 slightly lighter and better balanced gun, just one problem outrageously expensive. Her in doors would go ballistic if she new I was even thinking about it.

I got it fitted, the balance and weight is perfect for me, as i was shooting a Winchester select sporting weighed a ton after a days shooting, its a fine line between weight and recoil whatever you decide to go with you will have a quality gun for a lifetime, i hope the wife never sells my shooting gear for the price i told her i purchased it for. LOL
