    Hi,

If someone builds up a 2 year NCB, then doesn't renew the policy and later crashes as a named driver on a different policy, is the 2 year NCB cert issued still valid (if they took out a policy in their own name)?

Bonus is still valid, but you have an accident against you which may affect acceptance or rating by future insurers

If the ncb has lapsed for more than two years then it's gone

Thanks for the response. The NCB cert is still valid as it's only been a year since it was issued.

Once you declare the accident on any newbquotes it will probably wipe it out

    Yes,

minus x % NCB (you get a discount)

plus y % loading for having an accident (but against that a loading).

y will probably be higher than x.

    It's less of a kick-in-the-nuts than x = 0.
