permanent tsb save and borrow any good?

Has anyone managed to get a 'save and borrow' loan (where you save for 6 months then borrow 4 x savings) from permanent tsb despite a couple of black marks on their credit record from the past?

All depends on the black marks and when they were. Credit checks usually go back 7 years or is it 5. You save for 6 months then can borrow 4 times that with the savings held as a lein for the term of the loan.
