    Hi,

I am looking at the Garmin Edge 810. I would love to get all the bits & pieces, PHM & cadence sensor, but the budget does not stretch that far.

If I buy a basic unit (http://www.bike-discount.de/en/buy/garmin-edge-810-76381/wg_id-311), is it possible to add these extra bits at a later stage?

    Rgds,

Yes but it's more expensive to do so.

A cheaper option might be to get a bluetooth HRM and speed, cadence sensor and pair with your phone.

is there a reason you were looking at the 810 in particular?

    and what's your budget?

you'll often see them for sale in the adverts section here, think i saw HR & cadence sensors listed earlier today but the head units do pop-up too.

alternatively you could try to find a cheaper model than the 810. i use the 800 and think it's fasntastic. below is out of stock but that's just after a quick search. the edge 500 is also meant to be very good but i've not used it or looked closely at it.
