Anyone having difficulty uploading rides from your 810 via Bluetooth to Garmin Connect Mobile on your iPhone?

Lately mine simply wont upload at all. I have to do it the old fashioned way....via USB.

Has anyone had this issue and did you get it sorted?

    ta!

Plug in garmin, go to activities folder , delete contents. Mine worked after that.

I keep my Garmin "clean" by Archiving/Zipping them on a monthly basis and then emailing them to myself.

You'd never know when you might need them again.

Also if you use Garmin Express on a PC, if you click on the little cog on the top right, there is a Check for update button.

Click that and update. It seems to get updated at least once a month. It's 4.1.6.0 now.

Seems like a lot of hassle...would you not just sync to Strava or Garmin Connect?

Had a similar problem with 510. Uploads became very slow (if they worked at all). At the weekend I tried upgrading the garmin software but did not have enough space.... Went and deleted the activities (after backing them up to the laptop) which allowed me to do the upgrade but it also seems to have fixed the load issues.

The uploads from my 500 via Garmin Express (and onwards to Strava) have slowed down a lot recently. I thought I had it set to delete activities from the device following upload but I'll have a look to see if the activities have been backing up.

I only connect my Garmin to a PC once a month or so, to get any updates and to "back up" my rides via Zipping etc. It's no hassle as I do it on work time :)

I upload to Strava via the unit when I finish my spin. Either by wireless or bluetooth/phone.

I read somewhere ages ago that having a lot of activities stored on your Garmin can cause issues, and that's why I archive them on a more or less monthly basis.

Takes no time at all tbh. Shure I get paid to do it :D

I don't think there are such settings? The deleting or backing up?

I think everytime you "upload" by whatever means, bluetooth, PC, etc every file is read and checked against those already uploaded.

I couldn't find any tell tale "stamps" on any previously uploaded .fit files that marked them as uploaded, bar it's name changed slightly.

It is highly advisable to keep all your Garmin "stuff" updated though. One firmware update breaks things... the next one fixes things...

Ok but uploading to Strava is "backuping"your data. I just think saving them in a zip file is overkill. But I suppose you are getting paid to do it! :)

I've deleted the contents of my Garmin this evening and I'll be cycling tomorrow, so we'll see if it has solved the problem.

Had major problems with mobile upload from my S5 to 810 for a while. Some days it just wouldn't cooperate at all, or it would only work if I had the garmin connect app open while doing the upload. Update the firmware on the 810, working an absolute treat since the new update.

UPDATE:I Deleted the contents of the activities folder on my 810. After my spin this morning, it updated to Garmin Connect straight away.

    Problem solved! Thanks.
