Hi, I wonder if anyone could tell me - I applied for carers allowance on the 28 April 2015 and have heard nothing yet! My application has been with the deciding officer for the past 6 weeks and I am told this is the final stage of the process - I've been told on the phone that this takes a week or two so as you can imagine I'm getting concerned as to why it's taking so long for the actual decision - I'd be interested in any views on this!

They might be planning to call to see you and/or the caree to get a better picture of the situation. I'm afraid you'll have to sit tight for another while.
Its an Inspector would call, not the deciding officer btw.
Are you on SWA while your waiting?

Yes I am, it seems a long time, surely they would write and inform me if that was the delay. I rang again and a lady said the Do was on leave but is back now. Thanks for taking the time to answer.
