    Hi

Looking for some travel advice here

I am looking to attend this meeting

My flight into Dublin lands at 0915, and returning to uk at 2200

Getting to the races via the train looks okay, but getting back to the airport, may be troublesome, it looks like the train is at 1814, arriving Heuston 1945.

Will the 747 bus get to the airport in reasonable time?

Will this give me enough time or should I look for alternatives?

Any kind soul I could meet up with and share the petrol?

    Thanks

I'd just get a taxi from Heuston, will probably cost in or around €20. You would probably be okay getting the bus, it takes about an hour so it should see you there in enough time but save a bit of hassle you could just jump in a taxi.

Why didn't you book the flight into shannon? Its only 45min to Tipperary.

    Hi

There are no flights into Shannon before 830pm from Manchester

I could fly back to Manchester at 10pm, but it is easier for me to go out of Birmingham

Manchester & Birmingham are equidistant from where I live in the UK

    Thanks

Is there a particular reason why you are attending this meeting?

Never been to Tipperary races before and its a mixed race card I believe.

Very early season form before Open meeting at Cheltenham & Fairyhouse meeting I come over for at the end of November.

Anyone going to this from Dublin and looking to share the fuel cost?

How did you fare out abarkie?

How did you fare out abarkie?

    Thanks for asking

In the end I hired a car from Hertz at the airport, cost circa €40

Drove to races, took it reasonably steady and went into Dublin city centre as coming over for Fairyhouse and wanted to look at a couple of places for parking.

Drove back, missed last race and was back at airport for 2000 and walked over to Kealys and had a couple of pints before my flight.

Diesel cost €30 for a VW Golf.

Its a nice track, some signposting could be a bit better coming into the town.

Racing wise, had a reasonably good day

4 bets, 2 winners, so day paid for.

If I went again I would probably try to come via Shannon, as I didn't fully appreciate the distance from Dublin, but that said the M7 seems a nice drive and only €1.90 toll, so not bad.

Looking forward to Fairyhouse and doing the same with a couple of friends.

Coming over and stopping over from Friday to Sunday, hiring a car for getting to and from the races.
