My first suspicion would be the butchers that did your leather interior broke them.

    this happened yesterday

It would be very unusual for something like that to break off or fall off, even if it got a kick.

I broke one of those in my civic by using a screwdriver incorrectly to take it off. It clips back in now but it's loose and comes off every so often. Given that your seats were taken out of the car for the leather re trim, it's highly likely that it's a similar situation.

Have you a picture of the trim that came off?

four people in the car yesterday and one person was very tall etc and was sitting behind me and im pretty sure he was pushing his feet on it actually there very flimsy

Just to see if there's any clips gone. I would check the front ones to see if they're loose.

If it's a Manufacturing defect then of course Toyota will replace it. I have no experience of the current model Corolla, but I never saw this sort of thing happening on the previous models.

one that came off but the other one has a crack on it

What is the purpose of this ?

Picture 153 looks like the clip has been butchered.
I think Colm is on the money here.
Remembering your thread re the seat covering and the boot liner issue, I would tend to believe it is highly likely also.
Take it to toyota, if they say some monkey damaged the bits, get that in writing and visit your upholsterer

But do they serve a purpose ?

The plastic bits are end caps or whatever and would generally be to hide the metal end of the runner.
One bit there looks metal in the photo and looks like it might be a stopper of some sort but hard to tell.
Either way, someone was very rough in dealing with your car.

I doubt it's caused by feet. Kicking them wouldn't do any damage. Taking them off incorrectly however is a killer.

If you can deal with seeing metal then they serve no real purpose, just for looks.

I think you got the rare, falling to bits 'best built car in the world'.

I'd still say the guys who ripped your seats out are the obvious culprits here
