Half door/ Stable door suppliers

    Hi,
I'm in the process of renovating an old cottage. I really want to have a half door on the porch. I have recently got a quote for sliding sash windows but the supplier was very negative about half doors. Although they supply they would not recommend them because of draughts and cold. I am hoping that someone here might have experience of having a half door or a manufacturer that stands over them. I am particularly interested in a door that is mainly glass on the top. Thanks in advance. Pm if necessary.

Any Joinery shop will be able to make the Door for you. I'd make sure to include insulation rebates into the design to prevent draughts getting in. I'd also use triple glazed high spec glass in the top and again a specific type of seal where the doors meet.

Thanks for that. I will definitely follow up on that advice. A local joiner is probably my best bet.

Done a similar job a few years ago for the local council and what the spec was ,a full normal door on the inside to eliminate draughts and the like but the frame was constructed in such a way that a lower half door was hung outside this on the frame to keep the " livestock " out of a warm day. It was a renovated thatch cottage and looks well. Joinery shop made.
