Cows sitting on my dish

Probably the wrong forum, but I'm having a really annoying problem.
Crows seem to love sitting on the arm coming off the dish, this results in loss of signal. I've to go out and throw stones at them 10 times a day, I'll end up breaking a window.

Anyone having a problem like this, any ideas how to deter them?

Had crows, and magpies, but I've never had a cow on it. :)

If the dish mount is tight enough, you shouldn't have a problem. Unless it actually is a cow.

Ah funk! How can i change that? Imagine a cow chilling on my roof haha.

Seriously though, they seem to block the area between the lnb and dish. Lose signal every single time. So annoying.

Ah right, on the LNB arm. A handful of cable ties on the arm with the tags cut to a point should make it uncomfortable enough for them.

    Maybe the cows need milking.

The cable tie idea worked for me with crows anyway.

You can get spike strips to deter birds from roosting on window sills etc. Examples linked below.

You can make your own quite easily (search for bird spikes) and attach them to your LNB arm. Aldi had some plastic security strips for placing on top of walls to deter people climbing over them a while back. They would also work. Keep an eye on the Aldi site to see them when the come back.

Won't work as well for cows but.

Edit: The cable tie idea is perfect and cheap.

She mistook his dish for the moon but failed to clear it.

Cows climbing up onto your satellite dish? How did they manage to get "pasteurise"?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,544 ✭✭✭h7nlrp2v0g5u48

Maybe tne cows thought they could watch animal planet by looking at your dish and climbed up on to it.

Yes! I got it with a big stone.

In the nursery ryme the dish runs away with the spoon but in the op's case the cow tried to jump over the dish. So who ran away with the spoon op?

Take that ladder off him and it won't happen again.

Go Up And smear grease along the arm. They won't alight there any more.

And then the arm will slide up their arse or other orifices.

Not sure if this is some attempt at pisstaking or will grease actually work? Sounds easier than cable ties or thumb tacks.

Makes no difference. They can't get down stairs anyway. I presume the same applies to ladders.
If he lets one of the mobile phone companies put a mast on his roof he will possibly have the first multistorey milking parlour in the world.
