    Can't believe I'm a sixth year already, but here goes.

    My subjects and grades I want are below:

    English (HL): A2/A1 (unpredictable exam)
    Irish (HL): A2/A1 (I'm actually better at English but this might motivate me to work hard in Irish, hopefully)
    Maths (HL): A1
    Physics (HL): A1
    Chemistry (HL): A1
    French (HL): A1
    History (HL) A1/A2 (unpredictable marking)

    So thats a total between 605 (did I calculate it right? :S) and 625. I got 575 in my summer exams so with work hopefully I can push it up. I enjoy Physics, Chemistry and Maths so I need to stop neglecting English, Irish, French and History. I also need to push Maths up from a B1.

    For college, I'm looking at Science in Trinity, Cambridge, UCD or Imperial.

    If you're into physics and maths - wouldn't hurt to pick up Applied Maths, and it's a one year course. :)

    Ádh mór ort - tá súil agam go n-éireoidh thar cionn leat.

    Arnie - I've actually been considering that, not sure if I'd have time but I'd love to do it. Are you sure it's a one year course? I can't afford grinds but I have plenty of friends doing App Maths.

    Comhairleoir - GRMA! Déanfaidh mé mo dhícheall

    Only light study today, but sure I'm only starting.

    Finished an exercise in basic Optics and made some Stats notes for Maths, then did revision questions (interquartile range, sampling, standard deviation). Yesterday I conjugated some French verbs in the subjonctif présent for the craic because I love that tense.

    This post deleted, which did not help my already ****ty day.

    Chemistry was fun, did Heat of reactions. English had test on Lear. History wrote paragraphs on Buckingham Palace conference and Howth gunrunning both July 1914. Religion we read a bit of Tuesdays with Morrie. Lunch was horrible, not fun being pressured into YS. Free for Irish, didn't pay attention in French, Maths was a bit disappointing because studying ahead yesterday didn't really help, I seem to have taught myself wrong.

    Can I ramble on like this in my Study Log?

    Homework/Study:
    Chemistry Q6 2015 2014
    Maths all assigned questions

    I might do some more study later.

    Will post about study later but to track my grades so far this year:

    Maths (Stats test) - 92%
    History (test essay on Pearse) - 82%
    English (Lear essay) - C1 (v unusual)
    Physics (test on everything covered last year except mechanics) - 94%
    Chemistry (organic chemistry test) - 100%
    French (writing) - 85%
    French (vocab/phrases test) - 95%

  • Registered Users Posts: 93 ✭✭Imaginary Friend

    I abandoned this for so long, oh well. Update:

    Mocks 540 points
    English B1 (80%)
    Irish A2 (Oral 89%, P1 84%, P2 91%)
    Maths C1 (67%)
    Physics A2 (87%)
    Chemistry A2 (88%)
    History D1 (54%) [nearly died of shock, makes me hate the subject even more after getting A2s all year]
    French A2 (Oral 90%, written 87%)

    Bit disappointing but not too bad considering I surpassed my needed points by 25.

    Results of tests since going back after Easter:
    Chemistry exam I forgot about: 69% :(
    Physics exam: 92%
    History test: 90%
    Maths test: 100%
    French practise oral: 92%

    Studied about 5 hours a day for a month before the mocks, then took a break afterwards, now doing about that again.

    Study goals for today:
    1. Notes on Chem Chromatography chapter
    2. Notes on Chem Water chapter 1
    3. History special topic review (the only part of History I like)
    4. Practise 4 sraiths
    5. Make oral nótaí ar an Idirbhliain, CTYI agus conditionals
    6. Read Particle Physics chapter, write up notes

    Also going to have a Skype call with my friend who's fluent in Irish (bís bís bís)

    Yesterday I realised it was a month until the LC so I made study plans (finally) for Chemistry and Maths, and today I made one for history. yesterday I made notes on all 8 Organic Experiments and spent two hours doing Algebra exam questions.

    Today I did Chemistry Q2 2003-2015 and corrected them, and read over my Orgo experiment notes. I also did the Heat & Temperature Exam Questions from 2010-2013 for Physics and am now doing the Functions, Limits and Graphs (pre-Calculus) questions on Studyclix and then the Physics Mechanics Questions 2010-2013. Then I have on my list to write a page of notes on Land for History but i reeeally hate history.

    I really neglected this but anyway, fortunately I didn't neglect the study bit.

    I ended up with 600 points, which means hopefully I should be safe for Trinity Science (515 last year) with offers coming out in 4.5 hours.

    My grades are below, with my target grades from the start of 6th Year in brackets and my targets from June in vertical lines. My mock results are on the far right in curly brackets.

    English: A1 (A2/A1) |A2/A1| {B2}
    Irish: A2 (A2/A1) |A1| {A2}
    Maths: B1 (A1) |A2/A1| {C1}
    Physics: A1 (A1) |A1| {A2}
    Chemistry: A1 (A1) |A1| {A2}
    French: A1 (A1) |A1| {A2}
    HIstory: B2 (A1/A2) |????| {D1}

    So basically, I hit some of my targets and was slightly off others, but definitely improved (by 60 points) from my mocks. So pretty good overall :)
