Unlocked HTC One (M8) & OTA updates

Currently have an M8 thats unlocked and is S-OFF. Lately Im getting prompted to install a software update (4.19.161.3). If I install the update it fails, Im guessing it expects the stock ROM not the TWRP I have installed. If I flash back to a stock ROM, do I also need to relock and go back to S-ON to install the update.…

Alternatively, can I just turn off the automatic updates, disabling Auto-download system updates does not seem to work.
