[...] Toyota is giving the Mirai the next step in the model's global expansion by delivering the initial production examples of the fuel cell sedan to Europe. The first actual owners should receive them in September, but sales are currently limited to regions of the UK, Germany, and Denmark with hydrogen refueling stations. [...]

[...] Even if you live in one of the initial markets, remember that only 50-100 Mirai will be delivered annually in 2015 and 2016. So, no more than 200 will be delivered in almost two years from now. [...]

I admit I like Jap cars but this one is ugly and expensive. 66k Euro + VAT.

Horrible looking front bumper. Looks like they ripped it off a van or something and bolted it to that car :\

    This is the hydrogen car?

Looks like they didn't learn much from the equally ugly mk1 Prius.

Is that price the Danish price or the Irish one. The Danish have horrendous VRT import taxes on cars that would make the Irish blush. Before anyone gets pedantic, the VRT is applied before VAT !

After digging through galleries I'd strongly disagree - they actually did learn how to make a car even more ugly than XW10.

I suppose it's supposed to be controversial.

Geez those Japanese are good at a lot of things, but designing good looking cars is not one of these.
Well Joji Nagashima is a good designer :-)

Looks like a prototype car. You know the ones that look ridiculous, but they're a base premise, and then they get adapted for real world usage.

Dire looking yoke altogether, but if you reduced the size of the grilles/whatever they're called (gills more like!) by about 50% they could look quite well, I'd say.

I'd imagine they're functional, still could do a better job integrating them into the styling.
Looks like an Avensis with a bad bodykit

What's the craic with the wheels on it? Are they like cardboard covers for it while it's travelling or something like that?

Also annoyed to think someone got paid to take that photo :( As a photographer working week-to-week, I'd hate to think Toyota employed someone (and probably paid megabucks) to take that to unveil a car. It's as bad as the car itself :( But that's for another time! :P

They ship their cars with clear sticky film stuck over the wheels.

Yep, protective covers used for transport.
