is waiting time for test extra long during summer?

    applied for test in mid july but still no date. Going to ring them on Monday but said would check here...

    I applied mid June and only got a date two weeks ago.

    yikes. I was waiting for months notice before studying/focusing. reckon I need to do study NOW and then look for cancellation. I really planned to have sat (and passed!) by end September as my partner will be away for a few months so wont get in the practice without accompanying driver

    Some test centres arent open every week, due to demand apparently.


    I applied in Feb/March for a test date, and I got a test date for May in Donegal Town.

    Instructor said it is only open once every two weeks, or else open for 2 weeks, closed for 2 weeks as the demands not there to be open all the time.

    I applied for my test at the start of June and put down I wasn't able to do the test in June and July.
    I got the date at the end of July and my test is today!

    I think it depends where you apply for.

    If you ring them they seem to be pretty good at giving you upcoming slots/cancellations.

    I applied for my test at the 15.July (Tallaght test centre) and just received my appointment date by email.Test will be at 1.October.total wait- 10 weeks.
