Any tips on what to look for on these, im interested in a 630i between 2004 and 2007 vintage. There seems to be good value on the 645 but with tax up around 2K its hard to justify. I wont be doing huge miles so not worried about economy. What alternatives should i look at.

Tax on the 630i is €1500 per year.

Tax on the 645i is €1800 per year.

Thought the 645 was more for some reason.

I'd say the v8 would be tastier than the v6 too.

Look out for a 650i. Same tax as the 645!

Had a 2006 630i for a year or so with upgraded speakers, 19s, sat nav/TV, folding mirrors etc - they come fairly well specced. Very comfortable car to cruise in, handles well *well for the size* of the car. Shifted fairly quickly again for the size but in real world driving, I replaced mine with an F10 520d and it was a quicker car when torque and speed limits were factored in. I did think about replacing it with a 635d purely for the lower tax, better fuel economy and monster torque but back in 2012, a 2008 BMW dealer 635d was going for €40,000 - a nearly new 5 series was only a few thousand more!!

I think for the extra 300 quid road tax (but not including fuel) the 645 would be worth it. Only this morning one of them drove by me at speed from a stand still and the V8 rumble is just a beautiful noise. The 630i without doubt does not sound anywhere as special.

Didn't have an ounce of trouble, didn't even use oil. The panoramic roof is also a nice touch if you can find one.

Between all the 645ci's out there this one strikes me as best mix of price and milage

Indeed it does, and with 8 months tax left.

Has that one been there for long do you know? I'm sure these are hard enough to shift, so a cheeky cash offer might tempt them.
