Have any of you any advise on ebaying a bike? Specifically, posting or couriering a bike to UK? Any idea of cost or recommendations on a courier service? On one hand it seems like a great way to attract more interest on the other I'd wonder if the risk of damage etc was worth it.

Make sure your ass is covered re confirming delivery. If a dispute is opened eBay historically come down on the side of the buyer.

I agree with the above RE ebay... I've had a few cases lately where they were clearly taking the piss... One where the item was genuinely delayed in the post, and the buyer opened a case. Grand, but when it arrived, I was left with the proceeds of the sale being 'frozen'. In this case the buyer was very helpful, and he emailed the help centre as much as I did to try and close the case and allow me my funds. He had automatically been issued a refund, even though we had exchanged countless emails discussing the delayed postage.

I guess with a company that large and with that amount of transactions taking place everyday, it's hard for them to respond to cases, but in my experience it seems like they didn't even read the case, just auto issued the refund.

From experience I'd give Ebay a miss, too many scammers using it. A friend sold a watch, sent registered post, buyer received and said box was empty, buyer then raised a claim and won. Ebay were of no assistance.
