cycle for syria

    Looking at the pictures of those kids and family's torn apart by the war really got to me.how would you go about creating a cycle in aid of it.iv never organised anything in my life and wouldn't know we're to start but I really feel for them people and would like to help out some how.

    I know feck all about organising this kind of thing either but I'd imagine first things first would be to pick a specific charity or group that any funds raised would go to.
    Say for example it was the red cross. Then contact them and get some kind of charity pack off them, most of them would have one with all their details and registered charity numbers, bank account numbers etc.
    Once you've done that then decide on what type of cycle you want to do. I think a hillclimb event might be a bit exclusive. I could be entirely wrong about that but I just reckon you'd get bigger numbers out for a 50-100km cycle on a nice route.
    There's been a few other charity cycling events organised on here. The Cycle Ataxia one and the Le Petit Braquete one come to mind so maybe contact the people who organised them for some guidance.

    As the next poster said, maybe that wouldn't be to everyone's taste. It was just an idea and people could all put a few quid donation towards an agreed charity. Probably more a casual thing than what you might be planning. Great idea anyway to organise something!
