Quick question: Is it possible to put together a laptop in the same way as a PC build. Generic cases and different spec parts?

Just wondering out loud on my coffee break. :D

The short answer is not really, screens, cases and such are custom designed by the OEMs (Asus, Lenovo etc) and so it's not really easy. You can certainly buy mobile RAM and mobile CPU chips, and mobile GPUs, but beyond that, actually fitting the components in a case and screen is the tough part.
