Visiting the website of the discipline of electrical engineering might be an idea:

    http://www.nuigalway.ie/engineering-informatics/electrical-and-electronic-engineering/

Then clicking on Current Students>Timetables would seem to be the thing to do:

There should be a stand with timetables on it on the ground floor of the engineering building. You could also email the administrator and ask for the PDF of the timetable which usually gets sent a week or 2 before the start. Can get her details here.

Eventually it should be updated on the website.

I'm in the same spot myself, going into second year EOS and cannot find relevant timetables anywhere. I got the core modules timetable but the elective/optional modules are nowhere to be found, well I cant find them.

I found a pdf for one of the optional modules but its dated 2014, not much help. I think I better start writing emails, not sure who to though, admin or academic staff??

Thanks you for the info. Yes found the old timetable but not much help. I have tried emailing the engineering department twice to no avail. Its worrying going second year with no idea where to go, id thought it be better run so close to the start

They should be on the ground floor of the Engineering building near the lift and the seating area on a rack. If not ring the Engineering reception and ask for it.

I never got mine emailed either, found itLon the website .

IT250 is in the IT building, beside the Orbsen building and you can get to it by going through the concourse.

IT250 is upstairs in the IT, but IT250G is on the ground floor in the IT just be aware of that, loads of people go to the wrong lecture hall in the IT Building all the time.

ceim is a voluntary thing, theres no obligation to go and do it, however iirc you get free pizza and stuff. also its good to get help with assignments and general coursework. im 3rd year ECE myself so its likely we'll be sharing some lectures too

Go to CÉIM and try to attend all your lectures/tutorials. Worth going to and will help at the end of the year.

Ok thats guys for the info.

    One last question.

On my timetable it says im in room 3001/3002 for the first class then 3001/3003 for the second. Is it one big class room or whats that?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,770 ✭✭✭The Randy Riverbeast

3001-3003 are labs. I think 3003 is the project lab though so you only use that for when you are working on your own. 01 and 02 have different equipment so will vary depending on what you are meant to be doing.

So Monday morning I meant to be in 3001/3002 for labs it says. Which do I go to or will there even be class on then?

There wont be any labs yet (or at least there wasnt in my day)

The lecturers will mention them and which room. Its usually 3001 but if PCs are required then it will be 3002.

Go to Registration in Aras Ui Cathail. If that's closed go downstairs to SID. It's in the fees / accommodation building beside the construction site .
