Noticed a new jingle package today and I see theyve had a schedule change wayne hilton on drive and steve hayes moved to evenings. Seldom tune in now since the revamped red fm started which is slick now.

Jingles are better then the last lot anyway. I was hoping they would change there playlist a bit, but thats wishful thinking with 96.

Both Red and 96 sound the same to me. No reel difference. Cork needs a proper youth station like Spin South West or Beat. Redfm when it first came out was fantastic. The jingle package was slick then aswell. Good ole days.

Yea when red started it was great bit like beat fm whit lots of dance music. But I guse they wearnt making the cash then it went all over the place for a bit playing old tunes I think matt dempsy was behind that. I think if red fm didnt relaunch last year it would most probably have gone bust atleast now we have 2 reasonably strong lee side staitions rather than 96fm dominating. I agree the new jingles sound better but playlist is stale. I sometimes put the opinion line on it sounds awful pj and brenda trying so hard to be local talking old cork etc and parochial subjects. Niel prenderville a masive loss to 96fm no doubt about it.

Targeting youth doesn't make the required cash, basically. However, Red are likely breaching their licence now they've moved away from the audience they're actually licenced to target. Complain to the BAI if you want a youth station back.

That argument about negleting their youth audience is flawed seeing as their under 25 audiance is huge and the music policy is still very youth oriatated. Folk said niel was for the older folk but he gets a hell of a lot of young folk on air for someone whos older. Id say red have nothing to fear.

Complain about what? Red are No1 15-35's their target audience

They are also no1 25 -44's also and every single weekday show they have according to the last figures is now beating 96fm.

The reality is, radio stations that play Tiny Tempa / Calvn Harriss 30 times a day are not money making radio stations. The Spins and The Beats are not cash cows they float and make some money but nothing huge.

They're no longer targetting their licenced audience - coincidentally managing to get some of them doesn't matter in that regard

They willingly went for a youth licence knowing the pitfalls of it, so if they fail to make money doing that its their own fault only.
