Hi, I posted before bout my current sitaution but to pu in nutshell. I was abroad husband filed for separation in that foreign country. He did so because family law there dictated that there was split in assets. He knew I wouldn't have any rights to his company share. Since then I found out he put he remaining shares into an off shore family trust. He had it planned out well inadvance.
Now, His family made him withdraw the case as they knew I couldn't come back to Ireland unless he did this. So I had papers in court here but since I 'm back over 2 months the summons papers haven't been served on him. He has been dodging the serving officer. His company lie about his whereabouts as well. The solcitor asked me for suggestions as to how to get over this hurdel but my question is isn't that what I'm paying them for ? I am living on a pittence that my husband thinks should keep me off the breadline. Virtually no cash and he pays for everything directly for the kids! Should I change solicitor ? They told me their hands are tied until courts open in October.

If he is avoiding service they have to go to court for an order for substituted service.

The wheels of justice turn very slowly in Ireland. Best just get used to it.

When you apply for substituted service, you have to tell the court how you are actually going to serve the papers, down to the specific address that is to be used.

It is perfectly reasonable for a solicitor to ask you how else they could contact your husband.
