Im in Belfast next week and was considering buying a BT Triban 500 if they had my size in stock when I'm there,
Anyone else purchased bike there recently or opinions on another road bike of similar price/spec etc

I'm looking at the same price range and the Boardman Sport Comp is tempting at the moment (axa customers get an extra 15% off for sept).

Bought a Triban 5 about two and a half years ago in Decathlon, Belfast. Similar to the current Triban 520 with carbon forks and a SORA groupset. I've done thousands of KM on mine at this stage including club spins, sportives, duathlons and adventure races. Best value bike for the money IMO especially for a first road bike. Staff were good in the store and spent some time doing a rough bike fit, even threw in a shorter stem for free.
Rear derailleur broke after about a year, replaced this myself fairly cheaply and replaced the wheels a few months ago with some Mavic Aksiums I picked up fairly cheaply online. The stock wheels were ok but had some trouble keeping them true, the new wheels give the bike a new lease of life. Planning to upgrade the bike next spring but will be hanging on to the Triban for winter training etc. Overall no regrets buying this bike.
