Just posting this up cos I hadn't seen anything about it.

    http://www.wicklow200.ie/west-wicklow-100k/

Pretty handy aul 100k, a regular enough Sunday spin route round these parts, just turn up and pay 15 quid it seems. :)

Any idea where in Dunlavin is the food stop?

Is there a route map available?

Hey, I've done this a few times. Good event and can and indeed does get nice an racey at times. I don't have a route but let me see if I can dig out an old strava or that.

@Corker1 The food stop is in Imaal hall next to Centra.

Cheers, I may give this a go. Would be my first sportive (apart from Audaxes and the Evil), I'm not interested in the racey mode though :)

Hope to do this myself. Possibly.

The initial suggestion to the missus didn't go down too well.

That aside I was very surprised by how little information there was "searchable" on the interwebz after it was mentioned to me last week.

Very surprised. :/ Googling brings up old information.

    It's about 91km too. Not 100km

    Have a look here.

I used the Strava Activity search function.

It wasn't a bad day for it though. Got a bit cold if you stood around too long though :/

Next year I am donating a dozen tins of yellow road spray paint to the IVCA so they can push the boat out and have a few road markers hinting at what possible direction/turn is coming next rather than one miserable W at a junction.

I think some of ye here are a tad harsh re. IVCA.
In my experience, the vets have a really excellent record when it comes to hosting bike races and doing so safely/efficiently with good marshalling. They also give a fair bit back to the sport- lots of IVCA members are coaches, mentors and commissaires, and they help out with the junior tour as far as I know among many other things

I didnt ride today but have done this event before. It does have a more 'old-school' feel to it, in that they charge 15e for the day, give most to charity and dont waste money with sh1te like t-shirts, goody bags, expensive publicity stuff and ten dozen arrow signs, especially when in an era pre-smartphones, strava and mapmyride, people actually knew the roads and looked at maps before they started. And they are more likely to be photographed actually cycling rather than eating buns and drinking coffee :)

Ok it might not suit everybody but I tend to prefer this approach. Each to their own I suppose
