Ugly "new" Aer Lingus livery

Please see the picture of a changed Aer Lingus livery in today's Irish Times

It looks, cheap, downmarket and ugly. Not unlike a tabloid newspaper. Very like some backstreet airline that brings the unwashed masses to Benidorm for £49.99. All that is missing is the "union" flag, (or a derivative thereof) on the tail!

Meanwhile arriving PAX at DUB sometimes have to line up for 20 minutes for immigration control with just two passport checkers on duty to deal with four or five arriving aircraft. The passport line may well run to the airbridges at peak periods, if Willie W is allowed to get his way, which includes a cap on airport charges and huge extra demand. Not to mention the already stretched runway system.

Do you mean the main picture in the article? That's the special edition plane as partnership with the IRFU, Hence the 3 massive rugby players and the massive rugby ball on the tail, It's not being rolled out as far as i know.

That's the special Rugby livery, it's been discussed here before. Some like it, some don't but, it's only on that A320.

Sorry where's the "new" livery or are you talking about the #greenspirit IRFU rugby special livery.

I queued recently in an immigration line in Canada for 80 mins, 20 mins is nothing.

    Talk about a rant!

Please tell me how could anyone see an aircraft that is in a special livery supporting Irish rugby as being one that "is missing is the "union" flag, (or a derivative thereof) on the tail"?

Willie Walsh may have pulled off a remarkable coup, going from a lowly cadet pilot on the redundancy chopping block, to the CEO of one of the worlds leading airline groups, but I don't think he is or ever will be in charge of immigration at DUB.

Will the Irish Rugby Football Union logo on the side do?

I'm baffled. Did you even glance at the image you linked to?

It is still "cheap and ugly" looking. Not unlike the BA livery when observed on the ground with other carriers. Reminds me of the .com livery days. IRFU or otherwise.

"Not unlike the BA livery" !!!

The BA livery is white with blue bottom and a red white and blue tail how on earth is that like a GREEN and white aircraft with FOUR GIANT painted RUGBY players on it with a rugby ball on the tail ? !!!

Infracted for trollish posting and airline bashing. Livery is a special 1 of 2 in co-operation with the IRFU.
In addition rants about airport facilites are not the responsibility of the airline operators.
Thread locked. Anymore new threads along these lines will see a ban being issued.
