At my wits end at the moment. Its a bit of a complicated situation. My mother is residing in a nursing home as she has bad dementia and needs 24hour specialist care. She has been there for almost two years. She was living at our family home alone but she couldnt manage any longer. my brother and his family moved into our family home on a temporary basis as they are saving for a house of their own, I had no objection to it at the time......however they are still there a year later and a half wont leave. They say they cant afford to move. We had a verbal agreement that they could stay there rent free for up to one year .
In legal terms my mother is a living beneficiary to the house at home (my understanding is that she can live there for her lifetime, then the house is passed onto myself and my brother. I understand with this situation there is little we can do until my mother passes. But i dont know what, if anything i can do about the current situation. I was hoping we could at least rent the house to help pay some expenses, but they are refusing to cooperate which is sad but true
I actually think there is nothing i can really do

    Who owns the house?

You need a solicitor - we can't give legal advice here.
