Anyone get a reasonable insurance quote for a provisional driver? I'm hoping to pass my test in he next few weeks! Quotes I've received range from 1100 to 1750!! I paid 530eur last year.

Can you wait until you pass for the quote? It would make most sense...

I'm getting 990 with Axa but there's an issue with a gap in my insurance. Getting 785 with aviva but the need an ignition test - I literally don't have time to do it. Try Britton - getting 1160 with them.

    I'm 36 though - u are probably a young 'un

Agreed! It would make sense. I'm hoping to do a test in the next few weeks but want to practice a bit in the car before the test. Most companies do seem to give a refund if you pass.

Makes me even more annoyed when others complain about cheap insurance.

There was a guy here with a Yaris a few weeks ago complaining his insurance went from €300 to €400!

My insurance quote almost tripled in a year from my current insurer. I guess your insurance is more because u are younger or drive a more powerful car than me.

Anyhow the thread is not about comparing our insurance costs/ cars / experience. I just want to know if anyone out there has had more reasonable quotes than I have received.

Personally I think we are all being fleeced!

Yeah I understand the problem. However the amount of a refund you get is an unknown, and could be very little. Perhaps its worth putting your details into a quote as a newly qualified (full licensed) driver to see what the difference is. It may not be that much, seeing that your quotes are on the lower side of things all considered.
