Recently purchased a bh quartz frame. Disappointed with the frame finish.

Did anybody else recently purchase a bh frame with a similar scenario.

The frame is matt black and the frame looks dirty i.e. like the frame was washed with a dirty cloth. ( scuff marks)

I am waiting reply from the rep to see what happens from here.

Am i being to finiky or is this the finish on a matt frame

    Any suggestions be appreciated

    Thanks

Can you wash it? I assume it can collect dust while in storage?

No it's brand new, It's part of the frame finish from what I can gather....

I have a matt finish Planet X and, while it's a nuisance to keep clean, stains and scrapes easily, it doesn't look like that.

That looks pretty crap tbh OP I don't blame you looking for a replacement.

I've seen plenty of matt frames and never one that looks like that. It looks the carbon fibre lay up was done arse ways.

    @ iwillhtfu
Youre last comment is way off the mark, here's a BMC frame

Hardly way off the mark. As I was saying I've seen plenty of matt frames without these markings.

I could quote pics much the same as you but let's rise above being children. I'm sure there are plenty of examples of good and bad. I wouldn't be willing to accept that as is.

Thats not a matt black frame (i.e. a cheap matt lacquer over black paint). It's a matt lacquer sprayed over the raw UD carbon, and that finish is normal. It's lighter than a painted finish and looks a bit more "pro".

Exactly - same as my ritchey superlogic UD seatpost and as someone else said, same as a Scott addict frame.

Best of luck with your frame OP.

Also, the ultra-smooth lacquer-over-paint frames can be hiding a shed load of filler underneath to cover up moulding imperfections. At least you know your frame is 100% carbon.
