i bought a car over a year ago which i put through the nct within a month of buying it because it was nearly up, and when inspected, on the nct cert it still had the previous owners name, i thought it was still being processed so left it at that. but now i just done the nct again and the previous owners name is still coming up for the owner.. i have the log book which is in my name.
anyone know why this is and the best way to go about getting it changed.

There are no names on NCT certs as far as I'm aware.

That's the report sheet. The actual cert has no name on it.

The nct centre could have changed it for you there and then if you had spotted it.

Give the nct a ring and see what they say.

Ring NCT centre and ask about it, you might have to go up with the logbook and show them.

I had this on a car I bought a few years back, NCT database was never updated from the previous owner's details. Made sweet feck all difference to passing the NCT or when I went and sold it on.

Ring the NCT and tell them the issue they will sort it for you. I had an issue like this and they sorted it over the phone for me all I had to do was read out the chassis number for them.

Is it possible your car is a clone of an existing car on the road? Was the previous owner you bought it from the actual confirmed person who's name is on the NCT?

def not a clone. Bought it off an old fella who had it from new and he wanted to see my driving licence and showed me his when signing the log book..

We exchanged a car within our house hold a couple of years ago and it took a while for the new owners name to appear on the NCT report.
