Hey guys just wondering if a person can be insured on 2 separate cars with 2 different insurance companies? And if they can use no claims bonus while getting insured on 2nd car? Thanks

No it would start at no no claims on the 2nd car policy.

Yes. There are insurance companies that will mirror the no claims onto another car.

why does you no claims not stand for a second car ?? id assume driving history is based on the driver and not the car, if you had a tip no doubt you would loose you no claims on all cars you ever wanted to drive

As post 2 and 3 demonstrate, your mileage may vary.

From my experience, a NCD applies and accrues to one policy only. There are exceptions to this. I have a classic car policy and the NCD on that is mirrored from my main policy, but it's really down to the insurer what they do in the name of business. Given the current motor insurance climate, they'll be out for every Euro.

(on the flip side, classic car policies in the UK generally don't have a NCD component as they are priced cheap enough to start with - it's all priced in)

Best bet is to make sure the 2nd car is at least 20 years old and get a classic policy.

Yes, it's called mirroring your bonus, and you do start to accumulate a 2nd bonus on the 2nd policy over time. And no, the 2nd car doesn't have to be 20yrs old/classic.

Probably have to be done via a broker though (mine is).

You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”
