My friend has a collection of old watches, a lot from the railroads in the US and was wondering how much this one in particular was worth ? Anyone have any notion ? Any help appreciated ,thank you :)

To get an idea of the providence of the watch we would need to see the face and movement and any hallmarks or other makrings on it.
And it it working and do you know if it was been kept regularly serviced?

But dont get your hopes up too high. Most of those old pocket watches, sadly, hold only sentimental value or metal value. Exceptions to this are when they are in good working order or are rare and/or a collectible make.
