Well I have had FTTC for the last year with vodafone and was getting a steady 47Mbs at best no real problem with it. Anyway I was in the meteor shop the other day enquiring FTTH as they had leaflets and a stand set up. as we were talking he said he would check my line and said it could take up to 90Mbs but VF couldn't give me more as they were renting the line off them but if i moved to them i could get up to 90.

So today i called VF today and 30 seconds later i am now enjoying 85Mbs, nearly doubled my speed just like that :)

Don't know whether i pissed off or not with VF and not giving me the best from the word go or with myself for not enquiring. But i suppose its a lesson for all ye FTTC peeps out there

Sales guy should be let go for that comment...

All providers have the same thing where profiles won't always update to reflect real maximums, nothing to do with vodafone.

What the sales person meant to say, without trying to get a sale was:
You should call your provider every so often to ensure you're on the correct profile.

Twice a decade should be enough.
