I have the green and the orange, they are shower proof, nothing more, not very breathable (then again, I am a very sweaty fecker).
They are nice and light, And the orange is a vividly bright colour (really high viz) Green not so much, but not bad.
For me, they were well worth the money.

What do you wear underneath, just a t-shirt?

I had the green and black version. As said already, more shower proof than waterproof. The phone pocket zip was a bit dodgy, and I managed to bust the seams of the side pockets (but that was more me over stuffing the pockets and having an over stuffed belly at the time. Wasn't really durable enough for me for the commute to be honest.

I "upgraded" to an Aldi one. They normally have their winter cycling and commuter stuff (including waterproofs) later in September if you can hang on.

What's the Aldi gear like price wise?

Under 30 for the jacket, and around a tenner for the over trousers I think.
