Not entitled to part time job allowance

So, this last year with the lack of jobs I undertook an intern ship at a school working as a classroom assistant, while there I realised I would love to be an SNA and did a course to improve my chances of getting a job as one after the internship. Luckily a part time job came up in the school and I got it however it's only 20 hours, I do not have the experience and I'm going to take it. I was told I might qualify for the part time job incentive scheme...the girl at the welfare office told me that actually I wouldn't as I have not been unemployed long enough. Think I'm three months off the amount needed.

I'm so annoyed. After all my work and taking a job and forging a career they are not going to help someone who needs that extra money to cover my outgoings. Even any money would be helpful. I have written a letter to them asking them to perhaps have an exception considering I'm going out looking for work and building on my experience, I cannot pass up on this job as it will help me loads in the future. I've effectively a good step on the SNA ladder. Is there any other way I can get this benefit without the required number of days!

I find it so crap that all year I worked so much for little pay and even got a job from the host organisation and they are going to not help me back....no they would rather I sit on the dole for another year! it irks me so much how the government reward laziness while when you do something positive they will not consider you based on an individual who is doing their utmost. I'd like to also point out I'm not trying to get it for the sake of it. Part time will give me less then the internship and I'm doing this only to get the required experience.
