I have a late 2002 saab 93 2.2 diesel model. I want to change the diesel filter and it is within easy access in the engine. Can anyone explain the procedure and if a special tool is required to loosen the plastic filter case. Advise wold be appreciated.

I haven't done this myself. Maybe someone who has done this job on your particular model will come along and correct me.

You just need a torq number 30 or 40 replace the filter element and seal, I usually use vacuum equipment on the fuel line up near the pump to remove air from the system but it will eventually start with just cranking engine for maybe 30sec (but I don't like to do this as it can cause unnecessary wear to starter)
