    I think the two all ireland finals should be played on saturdays rather than a sunday it makes far more sense to play it on saturday than a sunday

    Here's a hint. If you are going to log on to Boards for the very first time & offer up some random opinion, out of the blue...it will generally work better if people know why you think as you do.

    For example, why is Saturday evening better for an AI final than a Sunday afternoon, why is Saturday so much better etc etc

    Sunday is better.

    Head to first Mass Sunday morning before the spin to Dublin for a little bonus. Helps to get one over the heathens from other places. :pac:

    Doesn't work. Galway v Kerry replay was on a Saturday years ago and it caused traffic chaos throughout Dublin. Dublin is quieter on a Sunday and it makes it more suited to hosting a big match.

    All-Ireland hurling final replay in 2013 was on a Saturday, very enjoyable day out!

    The farmers can't take a Saturday off, I believe that's the historical reason.

    Yes and farming and farm animals put the feet up on a Sunday ;)
