    The impressed decoration looks very fresh and those symbols / designs (?) aren't remotely Irish looking. If it is old it's not Irish, I'd say it's a fake but sadly there are plenty of genuine antiquities for sale online.

    I'd also be going with fake, or not what it says it is anyway. Antiquities online, on ebay or elsewhere are a minefield. Yes the real deal can be had alright. After all it covers thousands of years of human manufacture so most artefacts aren't rare at all, however the market is very popular so there are far more fakes than genuine, particularly of the "shinier" type items.
