Leasehold/freehold merger timeline?

So we have 26 calendar days left until our drawdown deadline and another issue has been brought to our attention.

Apparently the freehold and leasehold titled need to be merged and our solicitor is not confident that this will be done In time. She has suggested drawing down the mortgage by the deadline but negotiating the price now to account for the interest we will be charged.

This is not something myself and my partner want to do though and so are trying to find out the timeline to expect for this?
The latest we heard (Thursday just gone), is that the deeds are back with the local authority to sign, they then Need to be signed by the vendor (currently residing In the uk) and then to revenue(?) for registration.

Anyone had a similar experience and if so what were the timelines on getting the deeds sorted?
