Is an LED light bar road legal?

Thinking about getting an LED lightbar put on the top of my jeep but trying to work out if its road legal or not, can't seem to find much information about it online.

Is it the same principle as using your headlights? As in I couldnt have it on while driving on the road but its fine to have on the jeep? Will it have any impact on my NCT or anything?

    Cheers

As long as it does not replace any of a "must have" light and it has an appropriate colour - it'd be legal.

Actually, whatever light is off, it's legal. :D

You just want to have an extra offroad lights, right?

Yeah just wanna use it for off road stuff, trying to cover myself though! Will it cause any trouble with the NCT?

Don't think so, especially if you're able to hide a switch very well. ;)

If any doubt, just tell them that's your cargo. :D

It's legal so long as you don't use red or blue as far as I know. (or at least, if you insist on red, make sure it's rear-facing).

After that I think you can do what you like. I've never priced this kinda stuff but I presume amber would work out cheaper as it's more common?

EDIT: Sorry, when you say lightbar, I think of something like this:

But re-reading the off road bit, I presume you mean something like this:

Yeah more light the second one, it would be a white light not any funny colour or anything
