    Hi,

I am looking some advice in investing in ETFS. I am quite new to investing and have a small portfolio I am growing mainly consisting of shares at the moment. I have been reading up on ETFS but am just looking for some advice as in, when buying an ETF for example, the S&P 500. If the price is approx 2k do I buy the S&P for 2k and that is it or do I buy a few of these similar to shares?

Also if buying an ETF, which have shares that pay dividends, what way are these dividends shown on the fund or are they automatically added to the overall portfolio value on the broker site I use (Degiro).

    All advice/help greatly appreciated.

Hi welcome to the investing world.

    I also use DeGiro.

If you want to find out what happened to the dividend of a ETF, can you find it in the their website.

Lets say you want to know the dividend of iShares Core MSCI World UCITS ETF which many people owed. simply search it using google and find out the factsheet, in this case it is https://www.ishares.com/uk/individual/en/literature/fact-sheet/swda-ishares-core-msci-world-ucits-etf-fund-fact-sheet-en-gb.pdf

It says ' use of income reinvesting'.

    Hope this help.

    HI 27cyrix,

Thanks for your suggestions, Ill look that up. In relation to buying an ETF, do you know what way that works, as in do you just buy for example the S&P500 for 2k and that's it or is it like shares where you buy as many as you want really.

    Many thanks.

You buy and sell as you please, exactly as shares

If new to the investing world I really suggest buying and reading 'millionaire teacher' by Andrew Hallam. Not a get-rich-quick approach and even if you don't follow his template the read will give you a good sense as to what to look for in a share....paddy
