Suffering from dry skin around the nails. Wondering from other guys what product are good for guys hands. Not working at the moment. So it is not manual labour that is damaging my hands. Would something like Norwegian Hand Cream be a good bet for a man. Get tired of unsightly little bits of skin around the nails. :(

My whole hands are peeling. It happens every summer. I can never figure out what causes it. I'm using e45 cream at the moment. That might help you?

Why would any hand cream be more or less effective for a man? Nails are nails.

Vaseline Intensive Care in the yellow bottle is great stuff, lasts for ages and doesn't leave the skin greasy. Take a look at what you're washing your hands with also and make sure it's designed for people with dry skin. Last thing you want to be doing is stripping the oils from your skin with some harsh handwash or soap.

No Idea. I was going to reply what about face moisturizer, but then I figure all the other products the fair sex use must alter their skin. The hand lotion were in the women section, picked up one, that I though was gender neutral, of course it was pink inside, thankfully it didn't stain my hands that colour but it was really tacky.

I'm female and gave up biting my nails a few months ago, I'd very hard skin around my cuticles, so I bought a pack of plastic gloves, and used cover my hands in oil and put the gloves on for about an hour every evening.

    I used almond oil.

    Normal handcream was not enough

There's a cream for cracked, dry, really rough and hard skin called Flexitol. A good start would be to massage a drop or two of olive oil into your cuticles and nails, then massage in some Flexitol before bed, so it has a good long stretch to work on the problem. Apply it during the day too. You should see a really big difference within a week.

It's a bit more expensive than regular hand creams, but it sounds like you need something stronger than usual. Once you get your skin in better condition, regular hand cream would probably keep on top of it if you were vigilant about using it regularly.

I've manically dry skin and nails, and the only thing that works for me is what I've described above. I'd tried handcreams from Molton and Brown to elizabeth arden eight hour cream etc, and nothing works.

The nightly massage with almond oil is the only thing I've found works :(

I find epaderm brilliant, cheap and cheerful but an excellent emollient for dry skin
Available in every pharmacy, but avoid boots as they charge twice the price for the 50g tube.
