Due to the nature of my job I have to call Irish Water a lot.
Each time I key in the account number and then the WPRN wait and then get put through to a customer service agent. Each time I am asked again for my account number and WPRN. why ask us for this information if you are not going to use it

Just press the hash # key each time like they suggest as if you didn't have the numbers.

Thanks - that is a great help for the next time but my point really is why ask for all this info if they are not going to use it

I'm going to move your question to the "Talk to Irish Water" forum. The reps there may be able to answer your question.

    Hi Grainnemccabe1

    Thank you for your query.

Our agents asks these question again to verify that they are talking to the correct person associated with the account. Your account number and WPRN are specific both to your property and the individual account holder. This is done to comply with data protection.

I hope you find this information helpful. Please don't hesitate the to contact us with any other queries.

    Kind regards,
    Niall

that is ridiculous, after keying in the account number and the WPRN all that should be necessary then is to verify the customers Name and Address, dob etc like other companies do.
