medical assesment

    looking for advice,was for assesment yesterday for IB,i am out with stress and siatica,i have been for a mri scan and shows problems with my back and pelvis,however when i was leaving he asked me how my lungs were i said fine now stopped smoking,turns out my doctor wrote down that i suffered from COPD and never informed me that he wrote this on the form,dont know what to do !

    Do you have COPD? if not then I'd contact the doctor and ask him to correct his mistake or to explain his diagnose.

    Whats the impact of the doctors assessment? How may this affect you?

    Writing COPD on your form only means that you had chest congestion while you were smoking, which you probably had, but this doesn't mean that this information gave a wrong reading on your MRI or your assessment for IB. It was just extra information about your health on the form. Sometimes a person with COPD might get an asthma attack when undergoing an MRI and maybe your Dr. just put that down so they would be aware. It is nothing to be concerned about.
