So why am I here? Well I have been reading the training logs on here for a while and they are a good source of motivation, what I am hoping to do is to use mine to motivate myself to do all the training I need to do to reach my goals.

What are my goals? Well I am 18 and a half stone so the major goal is to knock some of that weight off so running will help with that. I also have run a few races in the past but I want to approach them from a sensible standpoint from now on so that I train properly and so that I can get times of which I can be proud.

In a not very sensible way I have been convinced to run 4 half marathons and a 10km race so far in my life, basically all of them with no training done. I want to be able to do a few races in a progressive manner so that I can achieve respectable times and be happy with myself.

I am in the gym these days getting strength training done and will be starting my running plan Monday so will update with times and distances then.

    PBs:

    10km - 01:19:15
    half - 02:43:47

    Goals:
    5km - 35mins
    10km - 1hr10mins
    half - 2hrs 30mins

Decided to get in a run today to see where the legs were at, managed to do a loop of 3.32 miles in 38:53 @11:42 miles/min. Not great by any manner of means but it's a start - signed up for a 10k on Oct 11th so at least now have a race to aim at in the next few weeks.

Out for another run this evening, was pretty hard to get out for it but happy I did. Managed 3.3 miles in 36:31 @11:03 miles/min which is a massive improvement on Saturday's effort. Felt much better out there this time and know that I probably have more in my at this stage, another few runs at this length then I will do a few 5 milers to see where the endurance is.
